At IHM, our Physical Education classes aim is to enable students to become physically literate, personally and socially responsible, and develop a passion for fitness, exercise, and sport for life. Throughout students time at IHM, they will learn and develop in (but not limited to) the following aspects:
Motor learning--Students learn how to move their bodies and perform a variety of physical activities.
Health benefits--Students will learn about the physiological, emotional, and mental health benefits of physical activity.
Collaborative and Lifetime skills--Students learn how to make informed decisions on their lifestyle to support physical activity and wellness. Students will also learn to work cooperatively with others.
At IHM students will learn various team sports, individual, dual, and leisure activities, multicultural games, and more that are appropriate with NYS and SHAPE America learning standards.
