The fifth grade is a time to foster independence. Mastery of fifth grade Math
computation skills is our goal. Lessons include instruction in place value relationships, decimal operations, and patterns, products and powers in numbers. Learning is supported, through the Zearn and Splash Math websites.
Our Social Studies work centers around the Western Hemisphere with activities including Explorer and Native American projects. Class groups also participate in a “Make Your Own Board Game” project to learn how to work cooperatively and establish rules, creating an appreciation for how our representatives do this in government.
Our Science curriculum includes the study of animals and plants, as well as forces of nature.
In Religion, students study the Seven Sacraments and keep a Bible notebook where they illustrate and label quotes from the Bible.
Building student literacy skills as they develop knowledge about the world.
